The future has arrived!

Artificial Intelligence is increasingly present in the professional market and within business routines.

Although often overlooked in our day-to-day, Artificial Intelligence is an increasingly present reality in our lives and is in various professions that in most cases we don’t even realize. Unlike science fiction, Artificial Intelligence helps bring us innovation and quality of life. In addition, it provides us with some conveniences, which streamline our daily activities.

To produce this new technological scenario and deal with Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, we’ll need a professional who is up-to-date and ready to deal with some situations:

1. Performance with robots

The initial point is to know how to work with robots. Professionals of the future won’t need to know how to program new computers and robots, but rather, learn to work with them. They will have to be partners and work colleagues.

2. Automated Processes

Another important point is knowing that Artificial Intelligence will facilitate processes, automating them so they can continue independently of workers’ efforts. That way, professionals will have more time for essential human activities.

3. Humanization:

Finally, even though robots can be very intelligent, essentially they can’t do human jobs, for example, show empathy or think strategically. The only thing robots can do is automate a manual job so people can spend their time within their areas of expertise.

Who are the professionals that will work with Artificial Intelligence? Who are these professionals of the future? We can highlight three main careers within this new market: Machine Learning Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer and Data Scientist.

Although these are the three main jobs in Artificial Intelligence, there are several other professions that can be explored: Data Engineer, Big Data Engineer, Big Data Solutions Architect, Business Analytics Specialist, Data Visualization Developer, Analytics Manager, Statistician, Professor-Tutor Content Creator, and Optimization Analyst, among others.

In this spectrum of professions, another career is the content professional in creating a virtual assistant (linguists). I won’t go into details, because we’ve already had an article specifically discussing this type of professional, The Linguist: a New Professional Profile in Technology Squads but I want to reinforce that it takes a lot of work and study to train an AI software and truly make it intelligent. To conduct this training and sophisticate robotic intelligence, we need linguists, professionals dedicated to language and content.

As we can see, Artificial Intelligence is a broad field for many professionals and is increasingly present in our lives. According to the International Federation of Robotics, approximately 11,900 industrial robots will be commercialized in Brazil between 2015 and 2020. The impact of technology and Artificial Intelligence on the future is indisputable.

Additionally, everis, in partnership with Endeavor, conducted a study of Latin American startups and identified some of the region’s AI challenges. Among the main challenges is the shortage of specialized AI talent. The labor market needs professionals with the technical knowledge necessary to develop these solutions.

The executive summary of this research is available here: The high-impact of artificial intelligence on entrepreneurship in Latin America

It is a conducive environment for those who want to pursue a career in this area.

So, do you identify with a profession? Do you want to go into the Artificial Intelligence field? Take advantage of the moment and invest your career in one of these new professions of the future.
